
The lecturer team from the Faculty of Creative Industries, S1 Interior Design study program held a community service event at the ITB Bandung campus, Wednesday, January 11, 2023. This activity is a continuation of the space measurement survey activities that have been carried out a month earlier. The team consisted of Akhmadi, S.T., M.Ds. as the head of the lecturer team, and the lecturer members were Athifa Sri Ismiranti, S.Ds., M.Arch. and Reza Hambali Wilman Abdulhadi, S.T., M.A. While the student members consisted of Filsa Andiani Kurniawan, Meylinda Putri Pertiwi, Maulida Fajria Azhar.

This abdimas activity aims to provide a design solution to the problem of the effectiveness of circulation and organization of furniture and activities in the pharmacy education pharmacy ITB.
In this abdimas activity, the team conducted field data observation methods such as the condition of the counseling room, the arrangement of the waiting room, the arrangement of the drug reception area, the drug display case, compounding, and the drug delivery process felt that it still needed a more effective and efficient arrangement. The overall size of the pharmacy room is about 52 square meters. According to an interview with the head of the ITB pharmacy pharmacy, apt. Bhekti Pratiwi, M.Si., mentioned that service activities were often untidy, many complained of being tired and the arrangement of medicines was just placed. “Some of the furniture such as my desk and the staff’s are not neat and effective, meaning that sometimes if we have to serve customers who are crowded we can collide or disturb each other while sitting working,” she said.

According to the Vice Dean of Human Resources and Finance of SF ITB, Dr. apt. Lia Marlia said that this pharmacy historically moved from the clinical pharmacy practice laboratory room, some furniture is old furniture from the needs of activities in the lab. She plans to support a fairly large room renovation, because to accommodate counseling activities and drug buying and selling services, good design planning is needed. “Arrangement and circulation flow are good and effective in order to make visitors and pharmacy employees comfortable,” he said.
Mrs. Lia also gave a very good appreciation of the intention and arrival of the Telkom University abdimas team. She was also very happy and entertained the team to be able to convey the results of their design comfortably in the classroom behind the pharmacy. Her comments also directed the design concept of the ITB pharmacy space with the concept of biophilic design so that it could be made brighter to make the pharmacy space more friendly and seem healthier. “I also feel very helped by the explanation of space organization and circulation flow delivered by the abdimas team,” he explained.
Handover of concept and design books during the presentation session On Wednesday (11/01) afternoon, the team also officially handed over the results of the design study and technical drawings to Mrs. Lia. Although it only contributes to the design plan, it is hoped that it can be one of the pharmacy interior design solutions that can meet good design standards, be friendly, healthy, and provide comfort to all pharmacy users. “We will gladly continue to design the design if there are further revisions, don’t let us break communication until here,” said Akhmadi, Abdimas Team Leader.
